Le Building

"Le Building" is a short film made by a team of 5 french students from the animation school "the Gobelins" in Paris FRANCE.
It was made as an opening short done for the Annecy 2005 international animation festival.
The idea is simple : a grand mother wants her neighbour to stop singing so loud. But events happen through a crazy chain reaction, for your viewing pleasure :)
The movie was completed in 4 months and a half ( including screenplay, storyboards and designs ). The technique is a mix between traditionnal 2d, flash, and 3d animation. As there are several techniques used in this film, the challenge was to blend them so that you won't notice it too much. For example the Pizza guy, his bike, the bus, and the crane are in 3D, and the cat is animated using Flash.
Enjoy ;)

Ex-USSR leaved hundred of nuclear submarines at the edge of the Baltic and an ecological disaster is come sooner or later.
We have worked approx. 8 months on this project using Maya 3 only for 3D and After Effect 5 and Combustion for compositing. The original video has been rendered in 720*576.
We also worked on precise documents of the spot and submarines in order to give maximum realism to our work and give it a documentary dimension.
It was a theme which held us at heart because the respect of this planet has an influence on all of us.

SALLY AND ANGELA, a 35 mm, 12-minute film by director Mark Wilkinson, tells the story of one ill-fated pair of professional killers. If the siblings weren't cursed by their own ineptitude, thwarted by their 1970 Cadillac Sedan DeVille, and sick and tired of each other, they would be truly dangerous.
A tale of two hot headed Italians with too many guns around, SALLY AND ANGELA loves mafia action movies as much as it pokes fun at them.

This story was based on an idea that I had about five years ago. We had a slow period recently - and we though it would be a good idea to create a short that showed the studio's current capabilities in character animation.
The story boards and model sheets were produced in a week, and the animation process took about three and a half weeks, with post visuals and sound, and music another week to ten days. The principle animation work took less than a month for three modler/animators and a tech director to
complete - we're quite proud of that.

We had a lot of fun producing this piece we hope people will have fun watching it.

"Typical Male Robot Behavior" is a weekend/after hours project that I started in June 2001 and finished in May 2002. The story was developed out of my wish to exploit the antics that commonly take place in a bar setting. Marty the robot experiences a night out in a local space pub that gets out of hand. It may feel quite familiar to some of us "typical males"...
