# PocketMovies.net
> Independent film portal curated since 2000, before YouTube existed.

PocketMovies is a curated platform dedicated to short films, animations, demoreels, student work, and independent creative projects that don't fit social media algorithms. Founded in 2000 by Jérôme Neuvéglise in Switzerland, it is one of the oldest independent film portals on the web.

The site is not about quantity or virality. It has always been about quality, discovery, and giving a home to work that deserves to be seen.
